Cycle World Inside Line
A Note from the Staff Experiential Marketing

In the face of tighter budgets and the need for greater efficiencies and effectiveness in advertising, Cycle World has begun to employ more creative and innovative ways to reach out to your target customers. How you ask?

It's the difference between telling people about features of a product or service and letting them experience the benefits for themselves. It’s the actual customer experience with the product and service that resides in the customer’s consciousness. Experiential Marketing seeks to establish a connection with the customer - connections in the form of experiences that are personal, memorable, interactive and emotional in scope.

When done right, it's the most powerful tool out there to win brand loyalty.

If you are interested in a project that will:

  • Increase consumer engagement
  • Raise brand equity, awareness, recall and purchase consideration
  • Implement techniques to dramatically increase organic referrals
  • Stimulate peer-peer interactions
  • Drive sales

Don’t believe it?
Check out the Cycle World Kawasaki Ninja 1000 Experience

Cycle World and Kawasaki teamed up to create the ultimate 90-day test ride for 10 Cycle World readers. These hand picked riders were let loose with a 2011 Ninja 1000 and a Contour HD camera to document their experience. Not only are they sharing their experience with the unique motorcycle online, they have captured hours of video footage and numerous detailed bike reviews.

Experiential Marketing Confessions

I have a confession. After working in the Moto industry just shy of nine years, I have become completely jaded.

I have found myself saying…
'I would much rather watch the event from the comfort of my couch on my flat screen HD TV.'

'Do I have to ride with everyone? Can’t I just take pictures, or pass out water?'

It wasn’t until having the pleasure of working on the Cycle World Ninja 1000 Experience project, that I realized just how jaded I had become. Seeing, hearing and sharing in the excitement of the guest contributors when notifying them that they have been selected to test ride a Ninja 1000 for 90-days, was inspirational. I was able to bring excitement to 10 people’s lives by simply giving them an opportunity to ride a motorcycle. “I get a free bike and all I have to do is write about it? This is too good to be true!” No, what is too good to be true is that I am blessed to work in an industry that promotes such a fun and liberating sport! Not only have I made 10 super cool new friends, I have found a new appreciation for being employed in such a great industry.

Cycle world is dedicated to the motorcycle enthusiast, no matter what he rides…Cycle World’s first love is motorcycles, and always will be, whether they are on highways, tracks, tearing across some unsettled expanse, or being used for everyday transportation.”

Joe Parkhurst, Cycle World Magazine Founding Publisher.

Thank you Cycle World, Kawasaki and all my Ninja 1000 Experience friends; you have re-ignited my love for livin’ in the cycle world!

Contour Cameras and Shell V-Power Fuel

The Cycle World Kawasaki Ninja 1000 experience is an amazing program, but none of this would be possible without support from Contour cameras and Shell V-Power fuel.

Motorcycles need fuel to work, so none of our 10 Guest Contributors would have anything to write about if they couldn’t ride their Ninja 1000. Shell V-Power Premium Gasoline has provided amazing performance and protection for the Ninja 1000 riders as they have fun and rack up the miles on their Kawasaki Ninja 1000’s.

If you’ve seen any of the amazing videos on the Ninja 1000 experience website you can thank Contour Cameras for all the video footage. Contour Hands Free cameras have helped our guest contributors tell their stories from the time they received their Ninja 1000, to initial rides around town and even 1700 mile rides in just four days.

Thanks to Contour cameras and Shell V-Power fuel for making the Cycle World Kawasaki Ninja 1000 experience possible. See it all online at www.ninja1000experience.com.
