Using multiple Cycle World media assets to help customers achieve their specific goals.

Situation: Online retailer BikeBandit.com was looking for ways to showcase their leadership in quickly delivering OEM replacement parts for motorcycles, while also exposing their expanding line of aftermarket accessories. They wanted a marketing program that stood out from their competition and drove people to their site for sales.
Solution: Cycle World created a program to accomplish these goals with relevancy using the market's used-motorcycle-sales increases and revitalization of older models.

Cycle World began by acquiring older-model, inexpensive used motorcycles in different categories. We refreshed them with BikeBandit.com OEM replacement parts and then created unique and interesting customs using aftermarket parts easily attainable from BikeBandit.com, all with a goal of low cost and simple work easily completed by a basic home mechanic.

Our first bike was an inexpensive Kawasaki KLR 650 that we refreshed and converted into a budget adventure tourer. The project is carefully documented and described in a special-advertising section in the April issue of Cycle World.

More in-depth photography and how-to videos are featured on CycleWorld.com/project-recycle, which includes direct links to the BikeBandit.com products and also allows users to talk about their own modifications and experience with the bike. The project will continue every-other month with a different genre of motorcycle.

The result was interesting, engaging and authentic BikeBandit.com content, and measurable sales increases for the retailer.

If you have a particular goal or target for 2011, let your Cycle World rep know, and we'll design a custom program to help you go beyond traditional advertising, influencing customers and driving sales.
